TAK Broadband Expands Southern California Presence with GSI Acquisition
In a strategic move to bolster its operations in California, TAK Broadband has announced the acquisition of Gulbranson Services, Inc. (GSI), a telecommunications contractor specializing in fiber-to-the-home construction services. This acquisition, finalized on October 9, 2025, positions TAK to enhance its service offerings and expand its customer base in the competitive broadband market of Southern California. Founded in 2005, GSI has established itself as a key player in the region, serving major telecommunications providers in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
The integration of GSI into TAK Broadband’s operations is expected to significantly enhance the company’s capabilities in drop bury, maintenance, and construction services. TAK Broadband’s CEO, Trent Edwards, emphasizes the value GSI brings to the table, particularly its expertise in fiber construction, which aligns with TAK’s commitment to delivering high-quality telecommunications services. This acquisition not only strengthens TAK’s operational framework but also reflects Platinum Equity's broader strategy of pursuing strategic tuck-in acquisitions to diversify customer bases and generate sustainable, recurring revenue streams.
Platinum Equity, which acquired TAK in March 2024, sees this acquisition as a vital step in navigating the fragmented broadband communication services market. Co-President Jacob Kotzubei and Managing Director Dan Krasner highlight that GSI’s integration into TAK’s operations will help the company meet the rising demand for reliable broadband services in a fast-growing region. By leveraging GSI’s established presence and expertise, TAK Broadband aims to exceed customer expectations and solidify its position as a trusted partner in the telecommunications sector.
In addition to expanding its operational footprint, TAK Broadband continues to offer a comprehensive suite of communications services, including project management and door-to-door sales. This holistic approach enables the company to cater to various customer needs while ensuring a seamless service experience.
The acquisition of GSI marks a significant milestone for TAK Broadband, reinforcing its growth strategy in the telecommunications industry and enhancing its ability to deliver innovative solutions to customers across Southern California.
