Pirate Gold Corp. is a discovery-oriented company, which engages in the provision of identifying, acquiring, and exploring mineral interests in the province of Newfoundland, Labrador, and Canada. The firm's primary focus is its portfolio of gold projects: Moosehead along the Central Newfoundland Gold Belt. The firm is also active on its district-scale Fleur de Lys project in northwestern Newfoundland, which is targeting Dalradian-type orogenic gold mineralization similar to the Curraghinalt and Cavanacaw deposits in Northern Ireland, and Cononish in Scotland. The firm has entered into a strategic alliance with Benton Resources Inc. through three large-scale, joint-venture properties, including Grey River, Golden Hope, and Kepenkeck in Newfoundland. The Moosehead gold project consists of 98 claims totaling 2,450 hectares adjacent to the Trans-Canada Highway in central Newfoundland. The Grey River gold project consists of 324 claims (8,100 hectares) centered on an ice-free harbor on the south coast of Newfoundland.
