The La Fortuna is situated in the Eocene-Miocene Andean Mega Porphyry Copper-Gold-Molybdenum Belt, known for its large and concentrated deposits that are economically advantageous to mine. The Apolo project is located within the Upper Oligocene-Mid-Miocene El Indio Gold Belt.
